New Zealand's Māoriland Charitable Trust's Rangitahi programme awarded $50k from Screenrights Cultural Fund

Screenrights has announced four projects to be funded in the second year of its annual Cultural Fund. The Fund was established in 2018 to support innovative projects that foster the creation and appreciation of screen content in Australia and New Zealand.

Participants named for You're the future of music Seminar & Workshop 2018

The artists have been selected for You're the future of music, an intensive three day programme designed to equip artists and managers with tools to navigate the global marketplace and create a path for their music. The line up of local and international guest speakers and mentors includes Luke McGrellis from Universal Music Publishing (Los Angeles), Shelita Burke, an Independent Artist and Data Analyst (LA) and Charles Kirby-Welsh from Kartel Music Group UK who will focus on distribution, as well as leaders and artists from the New Zealand industry.

The numbers have it! Spark Arena’s compostables policy cuts landfill waste in half

Spark Arena’s Zero Waste Strategy rolled out to coincide with the record-breaking P!NK concerts last week, replacing single use cups and hot food containers with carefully sourced compostable serve ware. Now the six concerts have wrapped and the numbers are in, Spark Arena Design Strategist Judith Clumpas says that the strategy is working, with landfill tonnage reduced by more than half compared to similar recent concerts, and the bulk of event waste is already in the process of being transformed into compost destined for New Zealand’s farms and orchards.

A GREENER ARENA - Spark Arena rolls out Zero Waste Strategy

Auckland’s Spark Arena has switched to 100% compostable serve ware for public events. This week, the venue is implementing stage one of its Zero Waste Strategy, replacing all single-use cups and hot food packaging with carefully sourced plant-based alternatives.  Compostable waste, which now includes cups, lids, straws, cutlery, napkins, food boxes as well as food waste, will be delivered directly to specialist local composting plant Envirofert, where it will be transformed into quality compost in just three months.
